The Ram and the Rat are in me..

I was born on the 10th of April so that makes me an Aries, just like both my grandmas.
This is what I found on Aries babies on the internet:
Get ready for the ride of your life this little soul is a powerhouse of energy and talents. Active is the keyword, and fearless too, so remove tall objects once climbing is mastered or attach a bungee cord for safety's sake. Innate confidence and natural leadership abilities can lead to success in a myriad of fields. Discipline is needed, but not so firm that it breaks her spirit.

And here's another one: The Rambo of the play group has arrived!

With an Aries baby around, you can expect lots of action and activity in your midst. Don't expect this tot to sit still with a rattle -- it just won't happen. The Aries baby is one who makes a lot of noise and will definitely be heard. There's really no choice!

As a Fire sign, the little Ram will be dynamic and always up to something. Will this be a tough baby to deal with? More than likely. To that end, parents would be wise to show this child how to work with other babies early on. Things such as sharing won't come naturally, they must be learned. Even where siblings are concerned, the Aries child won't be a walk in the park.

What the Aries baby may want most of all, however, is attention, so parents be well advised. In a play setting, the Aries tot will easily get the attention of others on their own. This baby will also start many things early, the better to get to the finish line, so to speak, in a hurry.

To sum up, the Arian baby can be quite independent but enjoys interacting with others. This baby is a fairly physical child and craves constant stimulation. They will be ready from day one!

According to Mommy, I'm everything like the description above, although the fearless part is not really showing at the moment. Ok, ok... I might be quite a challenge sometimes but isn't that supposed to be good? It shows, that I have a strong head on my shoulders, right?

'Strong Head'

Anyway, Arians are born anytime between March 19th to April 20th (more or less) and the symbol for Aries is The Ram.

However, the year I was born, 2008, was the year of the Rat, according to Chinese horoscope. Apparently, I am an Earth Rat, although I'm not entirely sure on how you determine that.

So according to the Chinese horoscope I love to be loved and cuddled. Rat babies tend to depend tremendously on their parents, but later in life they develop natural leadership qualities. During their baby years, Rats mature slowly, but gain momentum as they become toddlers. Eventually, they begin to exhibit active mentalities, so, in the early years, plenty of sleep is necessary (no wonder!).

In school, the young Rats are eager to learn. It is then, too, that Rats begin collecting things, and like to fill their bedrooms with pebbles, shells and keepsakes of every kind (oh my, Mommy's gonna have a headache!). Generally, young Rats are smart little people who are artistic and literary students.

Showing off my artistic abilities..

They are well-rounded and many of them do well in sports, too. Being born in the first sign of the Chinese horoscope motivates these children to be pioneers and gives them a need to be first in line.

My sporting ability recently @ the Family Trip! :)

So, I don't know how Rams and Rats are supposed to connect and neither do I know whether I'm more of a Ram, a Rat or both equally (or if that is even possible?). Last year, it was the year of the Tiger, Tok Abah's year.

This year, when Chinese New Year comes, it's going to be the year of the Rabbit - Tok Mama's year!

It's a long way to go to another year of the Rat.

Whatever it is, I guess I am a perfect example of a RamRat!

Mam-mam...

Eating, an act done by all kinds of beings in order to give nourishments to the body to keep on living. An act which to me is known as 'Mam-mam'. Some people eat to live while some live to eat. Either way, it's a well established fact that food is something that no one can live without.

Getting ready for my favourite activity!!

In my case, 'Mam-mam' is an activity I look forward to every single day. If I were to answer questions about myself, 'mam-mam' will be the answer to 'what's my favourite pastime' question. I hear mothers telling Mommy how their children have trouble eating and I wonder why. Since Mommy introduced me to solids, I can't remember anything in particular that I didn't like. I opened my mouth to any kinds of food Mommy fed and I will go to anyone while their eating and see if I can get a taste of their food.

My 1st taste of solid food, 3 months old!

Enjoying the solid taste of porridge specially made by Mommy - 6 months old

Yeaaayyyy, pancakes & mash potatoes, another one of my favourites!!

But don't get me wrong. Although I eat everything, of course, there are favourites. Food that I love most and the ones I like less. Carbo-wise, I eat anything from bread, rice to pasta and noodles but between all those, I'd prefer pasta and noodles. I also favour sweets less and that's why Mommy seldom gave me cookies, cakes and muffins. My favourite fruits so far, are strawberries and watermelons. Although Mommy prefer cherries to strawberries, I have yet to try cherries. Maybe someday I'll try them and see which ones I like most. Apart from that, there are no vegetables that I dislike and I eat fish, beef and chicken.

My 1st taste of strawberry... Tangy!

Hmmmm, Big Fish & Chips!! Loving it...!

So, there will be no problem in eating when taking me out as I can just about eat anything and anywhere and taking me to food buffets would be just lovely. I'll try and make it worth every penny spent.

And no doubt about it, there are countless numbers of photos of me doing just my thing - 'Mam-mam'.

Anniversary Holiday

"A wedding anniversary is a celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity. The order varies for any given year" ~ Paul Sweeney

More than a week ago, on the 7th of July, Mommy and Dadda celebrated their 2nd anniversary. It was on a Tuesday so they didn't have any special celebrations, plus, Nek Tok, who is Tok Momma's father was in the hospital. But that weekend, on the 11th, we went out of town to the beach. Yes, I said WE. This time I got to go along on a holiday at the beach.

We arrived at a hotel called Avillion in Port Dickson on Saturday afternoon. We had a water-chalet type of room which was on stilts and we had the sea below us. When I sleep, I could hear the sound of waves underneath. The hotel had lots of interesting things for us to do. They have a room filled with activities for children and besides playing at the playground, we swam at the pool. There were 3 pools; one of the pools had a slide which I enjoyed very much!

Look at me solo-sliding! Wooohoooo!

I was too small to go for the water sports activities at the beach so we spent most of our time at the pool.
We also had a chance to feed animals like rabbits, peacocks and hamsters at the pet farm.

There were a lot of other stuff that we didn't get to do because we had so little time. Maybe next time we can go for the nature walk, karaoke and the water sports activities such as jet ski, banana boat and others (maybe when I'm older). I can't wait for our next holiday trip!

"No man needs a vacation so much as the man who has just had one" ~ Elbert Hubbard

And with that, I leave you with photos from our vacation.

My 1st Birthday BASH!

I remember waking up that morning quite late, around 10ish. I heard water running in the bathroom, it must be Dadda having a shower. Mommy carried me out of the room to feed me breakfast and outside, watching TV, were Aunty Huda and Mak Lel. They stayed over the night before to help Mommy with the preparations for that day, my BIG day...

Yes, that was the day of my birthday party! Mommy, Mak Lel and Pak Su prepared the party packs the night before and I was thrilled. After breakfast Mommy showered me and after that I sat and watch TV while everyone was busy getting ready to prepare for the party. Mommy and Mak Lel went out to get my cake while I stayed home with Dadda and Aunty Huda to decorate the room where the party was to be held.

Mommy had tried to make me sleep for a while around 2pm, before the party started but I was excited and didn't want to. I was so adamant that Mommy finally gave up and wore me my new dress and got ready herself before taking me to the clubhouse. At the clubhouse, people were starting to arrive. Around 4pm, almost everyone had arrived and were eating and chatting away. Everybody I know was there. There were balloons and presents and a big banner that said 'Happy Birthday Nadyne'.

Dadda holding me infront of my big banner!

Look at all the yummy food. Catering contacts thanks to Auntie Alma!

My Little Einsteins Special Birthday cake. Thank you Mommy!

Unfortunately, by the time everyone had arrived and it was time to cut cake, I was already feeling tired and really, really sleepy. Now I know why Mommy had desperately wanted me to sleep before the party. If only I listened to Mommy, I probably wouldn't be as tired! As a result, all photos taken on that day were with my gloomy face on.

Yes, I'm excited inside, but sleepy on the outside..

Anyway, we did blow the candle and cut the special cake Mommy bought for me. It was in the shape of my favourite cartoon, 'Little Einsteins'. The cake tasted nice too! All the kids who came to my party received a party pack each. Cousin Nadhrah was not there, though, because she was in Sabah with Ayah De and Che De. So, we kept a couple of party packs to give it to her when we see her the week after.

Happy birthday to ME!

Time to blow the No 1 candle!

With my beloved Mommy & Dadda + the Cake..

After eating my birthday cake, everyone got ready to go down to the pool to have a swim. Mommy, Mak Lel, Aunty Huda and Pak Su stayed back to help pack the food and things to be brought back to our house. Dadda took me back first to get myself ready for the swim. Everyone enjoyed themselves at the pool. Some didn't even want to come out, including me!

My guests enjoying a dip in the swimming pool!

Finally, around 7pm I had to come out of the pool because it was getting dark and some guests are still at our house. At home, Mommy showered me and fed me with some milk afterwhich I slept like a log! Imagine how tired I was! Mommy woke me up around 9pm to open up presents. Tok Mama had finally arrived from London and Aunty Min had picked her up from the airport and came straight to our house. Uncle Nuar had also finally arrived.

With Uncle Nuar and our front neighbours...

Mommy put me on her lap and started opening the presents, one by one, telling others who each presents were from. There were quite a number of them and I thank everyone who gave me those nice things.

Gifts opening session. Thank you alll!!!

Another mobile phone, this time it's Elmo!!

We took some photos of me with my presents and after that, said goodbye to everyone. Later that night, after everyone had left, we went out with Pak Su, Aunty Huda, Mak Lel, Pak Long Imal and Aunty Ina. After a long day, we ended it with a nice cup of coffee before retiring to bed.

Me, presents and with my dynamic duo 'Godmothers': Auntie Huda & Mak Lel!

The celebration wasn't over though, we were going bowling the next day and I had fun during bowling too!

So, now you know that I really had a blast and my 1st birthday celebration was unforgettable!

Home Sweet Home

We've finally moved to our new house in D'Rimba, Kota Damansara last week. I have my own room there with my own bed and wardrobe Tok Abah and Tok Mama bought for me. My room has an awesome view of the swimming pool.

The cake Mak Lel bought for us. Thank You Mak Lel!

On Sunday, March 15th, we had a family gathering for hi-tea to celebrate our moving-in. Grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins came and we had quite a meal. It's also the start of the school holidays in March, so we had a full house!!

&amp;lt;a href="http://www.linkedtube.com/haMfPm4RuhU4e8679a4e199e9dc9f6723980ae3c750.htm"&amp;gt;LinkedTube&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt;

Dadda was busy entertaining our guests and Mommy was busy at the kitchen. So, I spent time playing with all my cousins. Some of them came all the way from Kuantan and they even brought along their swim suits but didn't get to swim because it rained that afternoon. So, we just played indoors. Nevertheless, I had lots of fun that day!

All my cousins from PJ side were there, include Kak Nadhrah & Kak Miza.

Makan time! Look at all the food. It's pot-luck style. Thanks everyone!!

My cousins playing and messing my new room!

Mommy was on leave the next day. Originally, she wanted to take me out, just spend time together. Unfortunately, I caught the flu and was not feeling very well on Monday so we ended up staying home. My cousins came back on Monday morning to go for a swim but I didn't get to join them because I was sick. In the evening, Mommy and Dadda took me to the clinic.

That night, I was quite weak and didn't get to sleep much. Mommy didn't get much sleep either. So, she had to take an Emergency Leave on Tuesday to take care of me. By Tuesday night, I was feeling better already but unfortunately Mommy started having sore-throat. On Wednesday, Mommy had to apply for Medical Leave and again, stay home with me.

On Thursday, Mommy went back to work and I had to be sent to Putra Heights. I was very happy to have spent the 3 extra days with Mommy but on the other hand, I'm also happy to spend time with Mama Lyana and Papa Adam in Putra Heights. It was the school holidays so, at least I've got company!

We're having another party at our house soon! We're celebrating my 1st birthday! I just can't wait...

One month to go...

I turned 11 months recently. Just one more month before I turn 1! Oh my, how fast the time flies! Mommy and Dadda couldn't believe that I'm turning into a young baby lady soon.

I know I'm turning 1 and my 2 teeth are showing more and more each day but I'm just too lazy to start walking! I mean, what's the rush?! I did give Mommy and Dadda a 'sneak-peak' of my ability to walk about 5 steps a couple of weeks ago but that's about it. I decided that I'm just going to take my time. I guess now everybody has accepted the fact that I'm not going to start walking anytime soon.

So far, I've tried my hands at playing the piano with Mommy and driving my own car. I must say I was quite nervous playing the piano at first. This huge thing producing sounds I've never heard before whenever I touched the white or black keys, I was shocked! But after a while, I could play 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' with my tiny fingers.

Twinkle, twinkle little star!

Mommy bought me my first car a few months ago and I must tell you that driving came naturally to me. I'm also an expert climber now. I can climb up the slide while everyone uses the steps. Perhaps I should try wall climbing now...

Allrite, my first car!!

Anyway, as some of you might have already known, I'm now being sent to Mommy's aunt's house when Mommy and Dadda are at work. Yes, they were thinking of sending me to a daycare centre but they couldn't find one which accepts babies under the age of 1, like me! They did find 1 which will accept below the age of 1 provided that the baby has started walking. I still don't see that as a reason for me to pressure myself to start walking. So, I'm happy being sent to Putra Heights every morning until Mommy comes back for me in the evening. Besides, I get to play with Papa Adam and Mama Lyana when they come back from school.

Mama Lyana always accompanying me now!

We will be moving to our new place soon and we will be travelling further each day from home to Putra Heights. Maybe I do have to start walking soon enough so Mommy can send me to a daycare centre near home instead of her and Dadda travelling such a distance to send me before going to work.

Perhaps I will think about it... Will let you know soon!

My favourite pastime: Swimming

How many of you can swim? How often do you swim? My Mommy and Dadda can swim. I suppose they think that it's important for me to learn how to swim too.

They introduced me to the pool very early; as early as 3 months' old although most people think it's not advisable to take your babies to the pool before the age of 6 months. Nevertheless, Mommy saw how I really love water and thought that throwing me early into the pool might also make my body tougher. My first experience in the pool was at the Hyatt Hotel, Johor Bahru.

My 1st baby float, swimming with Mommy @ Hyatt JB!

Dadda joining in the fun and making sure I'm ok!

Now, I'm kind of a seasoned swimmer among babies my age. I say that because we go swimming every Monday night at Tok Abah's club in Subang Jaya. We started swimming weekly since I turned 6 months. I'm not afraid of the water at all, unlike some babies my age.

Mama Lyana, PapaAdam, Dadda & me at the club's swimming pool!

A couple of weeks ago, Mommy bought me a special float called 'Mambobaby'. It's special because I use it around my neck so my whole body goes under water while swimming. This keeps my upper body from being cold when exposed to the air when only my legs are in the water if I use the normal float. Once our body gets cold, that's when we catch the flu.

Even Tok Abah & Tok Mama is impressed at my swimming skills and love for water!

So, I strongly recommend the 'Mambobaby' to all babies under 2 years' old. Besides keeping your whole body under water, you will also learn to swim faster because your hands and legs will be free to move around, like treading water, I mean. As a result, our hands and legs will be stronger too.

My first taste of the new MamboBaby float Mommy bought me.
Check me out, I'm really swimming baby!

Look Mommy, I'm swimming!

Besides the pool, I've also been to the sea. I don't quite like the sand but I loved the sea! I get excited everytime I see the wave coming towards me! I enjoyed standing on the beach when the waves broke and water came rushing towards my tiny feet. Mommy held me while I enjoyed the warm sea.

At the moment, I know that swimming is my favourite pastime. What about you? Care to go for a swim?

Till next time,

Ciao!

A trip to remember @ SummerSet part 1

Hi there,

How's everyone's Christmas/Awal Muharram break? Did you guys have fun? Well, I sure did and here, I will share all about it..
(Warning: it's a long post!)

I just got back from a Family Trip with Mommy, Dadda and Dadda's family (otherwise known as the PJ or Kg Tunku Family).

I'm all excited to go for our family trip!

On Christmas Day, we drove to Rompin, Pahang, to a resort hotel called Summerset. It was a nice and cosy, colonial-looking hotel by the beach. It took us about 4 to 5 hours to reach there by car. We started at around 11-ish in the morning and arrived in Rompin at around 4pm (plus a few stops at the Rest & Relax).

Mommy fixing me into my new MaxiCosi carseat courtesy of Uncle Nuor

There were 5 cars travelling together; our car which consisted of Myself, Mommy and Dadda, Papa and Mama's with Bibik Tatik and Kak Minah, Ayah Ngah's with Cu Na and Che Ah, Uncle Farlie's with Aunty Alma and Abg Aimar and last but not least, Ayahde's with Che' De and Kak Nadhrah. Tia, Uncle Mohsin, Abg Ikie, Kak Miza, Abg Faiez, Kak Sara and their Bibik joined us there.

Sooo cosy that I slept all through the journey!

Are we there yet Mommy?!

Upon reaching, we had to straight away get ready for a photo shoot session, courtesy of Aunty Alma. Everybody had to wear white so I changed into a white cotton dress which Mommy bought specially. When we were ready we hurried off to Mama's and Papa's room which was on the same floor but further to the front. We took quite a number of photos in the room and after that we went straight to the beach and continued taking photos.

Look at me all dressed up in white? Cute or what!!?

You see, although I didn't drive and slept almost all the way there (I had started using the car seat Uncle Nuar bought a couple of months ago and it was SO comfy!) I still felt a bit tired after taking photos in the room. I also began to feel sleepy again. So, I had put up a bit of a tantrum after the beach photo-taking session. Needless to say, photos of me are mostly, unfortunately with my grumpy face on!

The many expressions of us as a family.. The middle one is my favourite! :)

Some beach photos of us! Higher Dadda, Higher!!

After hours of photo shootings, we finally went out for dinner (I was already asleep by then) at a nearby stall.

All those photo takings took its toll on me!

That night the adults did solat jemaah and recited the Yassin in Papa and Mama's room. After that, we discussed about the games that were to be held the next day, after breakfast. We just talked and didn't really have any activities for we were all still tired from the journey.

Next up : Games! Games! Games!

Stay tuned..

Make sure you read this too!
