My Kelate Trip - part 2

The next morning everyone woke up early to have breakfast together with Tok Abah before he went off to work at 8.30am. After breakfast, Mommy, Tok Mama and I went back to the room and I fell back to sleep soon after. Our original plan was to go for a swim at the pool but it was raining so we had to cancel our plan.

At Wan Ani's house upon arrival. I can't sit still as usual!

Mommy, can we go out now??

Yeaaayy! I'm ready to leave my hotel room & explore Kota Bharu!
At around 2pm, the three of us decided to browse through the shopping mall next door which was connected to the hotel. We bought some snacks and headed back to the room. Tok Abah came back at around 4pm. At 6pm, Tok Mama's friend from school, fetched us from the hotel and took us to her house for dinner. We had typical Kelantan food called Laksam and Laksa Kelantan. I had some of Mommy's, some of Tok Mama's and some of Tok Abah's. After dinner she sent us back to the hotel. We then drove to another shopping mall called KB Mall about 5 minutes' drive from the hotel and Tok Mama looked for some scarves for souvenirs. On the way back to the hotel, we had supper at a restaurant named Tarbush which serves Arab food.

I love looking at myself through the mirror!

Off to dinner! The red dress makes it hard for me to walk..

The next day, we didn't have breakfast with Tok Abah. After he left for work, we went down for breakfast at around 10am. Again, we wanted to swim but I started yawning right after breakfast so we didn't go and I went back to sleep. Tok Abah came back at 11am and they started packing. We were supposed to check out of the hotel at 12 noon but Tok Mama asked for a late check out. We eventually checked out at 2pm. We then headed straight to a place which sells Batik materials. We spent more than an hour there and finally drove to KB Mall right after for a drink because the weather was so hot, we wanted to look for air conditioned place. We were supposed to meet Wan Ani, Tok Amin who had just arrived that very morning and their kids at the restaurant, Tarbush for dinner.

Look at all the colourful BATIKs.. Amazing!

At the Pasar Siti Khadijah Clock Tower with Tok Abah

They arrived at around 7pm, we had dinner there and then headed straight to the airport with them. Our flight back was scheduled at 10pm so we had plenty of time. After saying our farewells, we went to the waiting area and Mommy gave me a quick shower and changed my clothes into fresh ones. Mommy, Tok Mama and Tok Abah freshened up too. Soon after, there was the announcement of passengers with babies to board the plane first.

At the KB airport. I'm still munching...

This time I was wide awake. Finally I experienced my first take off and enjoyed looking at the view very much. I was fascinated by the tiny lights below us.
A short while after taking off the flight crews gave us cupcakes and juice which I shared with Mommy. The flight took us slightly less than an hour.
I read some books Mommy brought along for the trip and when we finally landed we took turns getting off the plane and took some photos outside.
We waited a while for our luggage and went out to wait for Dadda.

This time, I will not miss the take-off!

Reading the in-flight instructions!

I'm soo excited, I can't sit still!

We've landed back home! That was a FUN journey, wasn't it Mommy? :)

When Dadda arrived he was happy to see me and asked how our trip was like. At home we showed him photos that we took during our trip while Tok Abah, Tok Mama and Mommy told him about the trip. Mommy was especially happy with the flight because apparently, when she traveled with Dadda on a different flight (different company), the crews were very rude to her. Where as in this flight, the flight crews were very polite and were always smiling.

Thank you Malaysia Airlines (i.e. FireFlyz) for the good hospitality! I'm sooo happy..!

So, now you know how my first flight went. I'm definitely looking forward to more 'flying' trips!

Here's the photo album for your viewing pleasure..
13 month - KelateTrip

p.s; My entry for MAS The Great Escapade contest before didn't win me the trip, but I'm hoping to fly with Mommy & Dadda soon!

My First Flight - part 1

Finally, I've had my first flight experience last week, Sunday the 17th of May. Unfortunately though, Dadda was unable to join me in my first exploration of the 'flying world' as he had prior work engagements. The people who witnessed my first flying journey were Mommy, Tok Mama and Tok Abah, of course.

You see, Tok Abah had to go to Kota Bahru, Kelantan for work matters for a couple of days so Mommy, Tok Mama and I decided to tag along! Well, Mommy decided actually, hehe. Anyway, Tok Mama happened to be free too so she decided to join us.

My quest started on a Sunday afternoon. Dadda came out of his training to send us to the airport at around 2pm. Our flight was scheduled at 3pm. I was so excited that I did not have my afternoon nap before that. I took some photos with Dadda at the airport and later Dadda saw us to the boarding gate and waved goodbye. Both Mommy and I were quite sad that Dadda didn't get to join us for my first flight experience.

at the airport with Dadda..

at the FireFly check in counter

Tata Dadda.. We'll miss YOU!
We took more photos in the waiting area before boarding. Mommy and I got to board the plane first because they allowed passengers with babies to go first. So naturally, Mommy got to take me aboard before everyone else because she was with a baby and the baby was of course, yours truly!

Waiting to board with Tok Abah. I'm already very sleepy..

Yeay, we're the first to board as I'm the only baby there!

We're leaving on a Jet Plane!!
As soon as we settled down in our seats, Mommy gave me my bottled milk which she had prepared earlier. People were still looking for their seats and keeping their luggage at the top compartment when suddenly, to Mommy's dismay, I fell asleep! Mommy, Tok Mama and Tok Abah were quite dissapointed because they were all looking forward to seeing me experience the take off. To cut the story short, I actually slept the whole way and didn't even experience the landing, sigh. I only woke up when Mommy carried me off the plane so we managed to snap some photos outside.

Slept all the way to Kota Bharu!!

We're here already? The flight soo comfy Mommy!
When we arrived in Kota Bahru, a family friend, Wan Ani fetched us from the airport and took us to the hotel. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Kota Bahru. We checked in and after Tok Abah and Tok Mama performed their prayers, we drove to Wan Ani's house at a place called Ketereh, about half an hours' drive from the hotel. It rained heavily so we stayed and have dinner at her house with her kids too. Wan Ani's husband, Tok Amin is working in KL. He comes back by plane every few days so he was not there. After dinner we borrowed Wan Ani's car and drove back to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel at around 9pm and took turns to shower. I had my bath and milk right after. We were all tired from the journey so we went to bed early.

To be continued..

My New Shoes

Before going to bed around midnight last night, Mommy and Dadda came smiling and hugged and kissed me a few times and said, "Happy Birthday Darling! Mommy and Dadda's little angel has turned 1!" I didn't quite understand what they were saying and why they were suddenly happy in the middle of the night or maybe I was too sleepy to even think of it, I just went straight to bed.

I'm ONE already, Mommy?

What's this with all the No 1 finger, Dadda?

This morning, Mommy woke me up earlier than usual. Dadda has already showered and while I was still yawning and my eyes were still half closed, he carried me downstairs. Oh yes, we slept over at Tok Abah's because I heard that Dadda had wanted to send his car for service. Anyway, Tok Abah was already downstairs, getting ready to go to work. Tok Mama is still in London. Tok Abah took me in his arms and kissed my forehead and also muttered the words, 'Happy Birthday'. By then, I was fully awake but had no mood to do anything at all. I just wanted to go back to sleep!

A while later, Mommy came down to bathe me and when I was ready, I waved goodbye to Tok Abah when he left to work. Dadda took me to the computer and there I saw Tok Mama's face on the screen! I thought it was only a photo but somehow the photo talked to me! I didn't know what to think so I just stared at the screen without muttering a single word!

It's still too early.. I miss my sleep..

So anyway, we eventually went out when everyone was ready. We had breakfast at McDonald's after we sent Dadda's car for service after which we headed to Pantai Medical Centre to see my doctor, Dr. Azam for my 1 year jab.

Breakfast @ McD... I can do the No 1 with my finger now..

Reading in the car on the way to Pantai Medical Centre, where I was born!

I met a few friends there. Dr. Azam seemed like a nice guy but he poked my thigh with a tiny sharp little thingy and I got angry! Well, it didn't really hurt me and I didn't cry but I was quite annoyed that I had to be forced to lie down while listening to this stranger talk about me!

How much do I weigh now? 9 kg!

Is this my 1 year birthday gift Mommy, a JAB??!!

After my visit to Dr. Azam's, we went to Papa's house in PJ because Dadda had to attend the Friday prayers. I rested for a while and played with Abang Aimar while waiting for Dadda and Papa to come back. After we all had our lunch together, I went out again with Mommy and Dadda. This time we went to a shopping mall to buy me a new pair of shoes! Woohoo!

That's my Dr Azam in the background. He's quite the joker!

This is what I've been telling you guys about in my previous post, remember? Anyway, I fell asleep when we reached the shoe shop so Mommy and Dadda chose the shoes for me. It's almost like Cinderella's glass slippers (except that it's not made of glass but clear rubber..) and the best part is... there are lights when I walk! This way I won't be lost in a crowd and Mommy and Dadda could always find me. Anyway, we continued shopping a wee bit longer and then headed straight back to Subang.

That night, we had a small celebration at Tok Abah's with Mak Lel (she joined us during our shopping spree..), Wandak, Wan Kie, Mama Lyana, Papa Adam, Tok Mama (with Aunty Alia, Uncle Ashraf, Aunty Intan and Kak Aqilah through the computer, again..). I opened up a few presents from them, hehe...

My 1st birthday cake in Subang!

Opening some gifts from Tok Abah, Tok Mama, Wan Kie, Wan Ndak.
I'm wearing Mommy's old dress sewn by Wan Ndak!

Apparently, there'll be another wee celebration with the PJ family, again, tomorrow.
Can't wait... will update on that, soon...

One month to go...

I turned 11 months recently. Just one more month before I turn 1! Oh my, how fast the time flies! Mommy and Dadda couldn't believe that I'm turning into a young baby lady soon.

I know I'm turning 1 and my 2 teeth are showing more and more each day but I'm just too lazy to start walking! I mean, what's the rush?! I did give Mommy and Dadda a 'sneak-peak' of my ability to walk about 5 steps a couple of weeks ago but that's about it. I decided that I'm just going to take my time. I guess now everybody has accepted the fact that I'm not going to start walking anytime soon.

So far, I've tried my hands at playing the piano with Mommy and driving my own car. I must say I was quite nervous playing the piano at first. This huge thing producing sounds I've never heard before whenever I touched the white or black keys, I was shocked! But after a while, I could play 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' with my tiny fingers.

Twinkle, twinkle little star!

Mommy bought me my first car a few months ago and I must tell you that driving came naturally to me. I'm also an expert climber now. I can climb up the slide while everyone uses the steps. Perhaps I should try wall climbing now...

Allrite, my first car!!

Anyway, as some of you might have already known, I'm now being sent to Mommy's aunt's house when Mommy and Dadda are at work. Yes, they were thinking of sending me to a daycare centre but they couldn't find one which accepts babies under the age of 1, like me! They did find 1 which will accept below the age of 1 provided that the baby has started walking. I still don't see that as a reason for me to pressure myself to start walking. So, I'm happy being sent to Putra Heights every morning until Mommy comes back for me in the evening. Besides, I get to play with Papa Adam and Mama Lyana when they come back from school.

Mama Lyana always accompanying me now!

We will be moving to our new place soon and we will be travelling further each day from home to Putra Heights. Maybe I do have to start walking soon enough so Mommy can send me to a daycare centre near home instead of her and Dadda travelling such a distance to send me before going to work.

Perhaps I will think about it... Will let you know soon!

I want TheLilCaliph goodies!

I'll be turning 10 months soon and I feel I deserve a gift or goodies for all my cheeky naughty good behaviour all this while.

So, when browsing for goodies, I stumbled upon this cool online Malaysian store specialising in baby stuff called The Lil Caliph!

What's The Lil Caliph you may asked? Well, Caliph (according to Wikipedia) is an Arabic word that generally means leader or head of state. And hence, the store uses this name to represent the future leaders, like myself.. Yes, I am a Lil Caliph! :)

Look Mommy, I'm a Lil Caliph!

Anyway, the store have sooo many goodies for Mommy & me! These are categorised neatly on the left side of their website such as Toys&Games, Mother Care, Baby Bags and Travel Companion!

Furthermore, Dadda's friends, Auntie Mas and Uncle Johan both just had their newborn baby girl and baby boy respectively, so
The Lil Caliph will be the perfect place to find a gift for my new lil friends!

So, what should we get them? And what will be the perfect gift for me?

There are soo many cool choices available at TheLilCaliph (TLC for short). For example, I saw this plush tiger toy called Taj The Tiger that Ayahde might really love (since they just came back from the zoo and Ayahde is crazy about tigers)

Hmmm, that makes me wonder, when will Dadda & Mommy bring me to the Zoo? I guess maybe when I can walk too, which I hope soon coz I can already easily stand & dance to the music!

Back to TheLilCaliph website, you can also select your goodies through the Manufacturers! Say you always love products from Fisher-Price, then just select those and Walla! -- You will be on the page that sorts all Fisher-Price goodies. It's sooo user-friendly and innovative!

What more, you also get free shipping for orders more than RM200!

But, the reason I love the site soo much is because I can actually reward my Mommy & Dadda with a holiday of a lifetime!

Of course, this is my first entry to the contest, and if I blog more about TheLilCaliph, then the chances for me to reward Mommy & Dadda with a trip to Phuket & Bali will be higher! They surely deserves it after putting up with my theatrics for 10 months..!

So, would you help me in my quest? Help spread the words around about this entry and also leave a comment...!

Hmmm, maybe I can also get gifts for all the February babies in our family like Papa, Mak Lel, Auntie Alma, Iky & Uncle Nuor from TheLilCaliph!

Cheerios!

My favourite pastime: Swimming

How many of you can swim? How often do you swim? My Mommy and Dadda can swim. I suppose they think that it's important for me to learn how to swim too.

They introduced me to the pool very early; as early as 3 months' old although most people think it's not advisable to take your babies to the pool before the age of 6 months. Nevertheless, Mommy saw how I really love water and thought that throwing me early into the pool might also make my body tougher. My first experience in the pool was at the Hyatt Hotel, Johor Bahru.

My 1st baby float, swimming with Mommy @ Hyatt JB!

Dadda joining in the fun and making sure I'm ok!

Now, I'm kind of a seasoned swimmer among babies my age. I say that because we go swimming every Monday night at Tok Abah's club in Subang Jaya. We started swimming weekly since I turned 6 months. I'm not afraid of the water at all, unlike some babies my age.

Mama Lyana, PapaAdam, Dadda & me at the club's swimming pool!

A couple of weeks ago, Mommy bought me a special float called 'Mambobaby'. It's special because I use it around my neck so my whole body goes under water while swimming. This keeps my upper body from being cold when exposed to the air when only my legs are in the water if I use the normal float. Once our body gets cold, that's when we catch the flu.

Even Tok Abah & Tok Mama is impressed at my swimming skills and love for water!

So, I strongly recommend the 'Mambobaby' to all babies under 2 years' old. Besides keeping your whole body under water, you will also learn to swim faster because your hands and legs will be free to move around, like treading water, I mean. As a result, our hands and legs will be stronger too.

My first taste of the new MamboBaby float Mommy bought me.
Check me out, I'm really swimming baby!

Look Mommy, I'm swimming!

Besides the pool, I've also been to the sea. I don't quite like the sand but I loved the sea! I get excited everytime I see the wave coming towards me! I enjoyed standing on the beach when the waves broke and water came rushing towards my tiny feet. Mommy held me while I enjoyed the warm sea.

At the moment, I know that swimming is my favourite pastime. What about you? Care to go for a swim?

Till next time,

Ciao!
