Colourful CNY at i-City

This year, Chinese New Year fell on a Monday so we had a long weekend to celebrate it. School was off for 4 days. Mommy and Dadda decided to take me to i-City in Shah Alam, just about 20 minutes drive from where we're staying. I-City is famous for its colourful lights.

So on Sunday night, after Maghrib prayers, we got ready. We left Idzhar with Bibik though because Mommy decided that it would be too tiring for him to follow us around and he wouldn't have enjoyed it. Pak Su Ami tagged along to help Mommy look after me. We left the house at around 8pm to meet Adida, Tok Daddy, Aunty Sheila and her kids there. There was quite a bad traffic jam going into i-City.

After braving the traffic, we finally got a parking space and went straight to look for Adida and the rest. Our first stop was the Snow House. We brought our own jackets but Adida and her family had to queue up and rent jackets. Inside, Dadda, Pak Su, Adida, Kak Ira and Abang Amir went on the sled while we watched and took pictures of them.

Mommy wanted to go but I didn't want her to. I wanted her to just stay with me as I was too cold and only wanted to be with her. So, we waited and watched them slide one by one. Dadda went twice because Mommy didn't get his picture the first time. We then took some more pictures before going out.

There goes Dadda.

This is us with the snowman.

Once we're out, we went our separate ways (Adida and her family left straight away because they were tired as they were out the whole day). We walked over to the theme park to go on some of the rides but all the nice ones had really, really long queues. We wanted to go on the huge Ferris Wheel but decided against it when we saw how long we had to wait in line so we moved on to other rides. We finally decided to go on the carousel.

Pak Su, Mommy and I went while Dadda waited for us. I loved the carousel. It's now my favourite ride. Mommy and Pak Su then went on another ride that had lots of swings. They looked like they had fun too! I didn't go because i didn't make the height benchmark to go on that ride. Maybe when I'm a bit older and taller I'll go.

Deciding where to go.

Mommy and I shared a horse because Mommy was afraid I'd fall.

Here we go!

After the rides, we decided to call it a day because Mommy taught we had already left Idzhar long enough by then.

On the way back, Dadda stopped by at McDonalds because I was complaining of hunger, hehehe...

My 'healthy' late night supper. Mommy said once in a while is okay ;)

We had a really good time and are planning to go again for all the good rides we missed!
Maybe next time we'll see you there!

February 2010 happenings... continued...

Hi all!

Guess what? Yes, I did get to see some Lion Dance action on Chinese New Year weekend! Woohoo!
We saw it by chance when we stopped by at a mall in Subang (Subang Parade) to buy a birthday present for a neighbour...

So, I told you in my previous entry that everyone was on a long holiday weekend because of the Chinese New Year, right? Well, yea, they had Saturday, the 13th till Tuesday, the 16th off from work. So, I was hoping for a 'happening' weekend and I got it!

On Sunday the 14th, we attended a wedding with Tok Abah, Tok Mama, Pak Su, Mama and Ayah Ngah.

Right after that we had to attend a birthday celebration of a friend of mine, Akilah (well, she actually lives next door to Tok Abah's). On the way there, we stopped by at Subang Parade to get her presents. That was where all the action began. We happened to be right on time for the Lion Dance performance! It was soooo exciting! There were 4 lions; 2 red and yellow ones and 2 white and silver ones. They not only did the usual 'walking-on-posts' stunt but they also walked on 2 wires. It was sooo cool!

After buying the presents we went straight to Akilah's house. There, I ate A LOT! I already ate some rice previously at the wedding but somehow I managed to find more appetite to eat some more food at the party, hehehe... Anyway, Akilah looked sweet in her pretty dress and we played ball after eating.

The next day, Monday, we went all the way to Seremban to visit Atuk Ngah Man (although he prefers to be called 'Uncle Man' just like how Mommy and Dadda calls him...) who was down with Dengue and was hospitalised a week prior to our visit. However, he was discharged a day before the CNY so we went to his house instead.
From Seremban, we headed straight to Nek Wan's in Rembau. Of course, needless to say that everybody there were so happy to see me...

The day after that, we had a light breakfast and skipped lunch to have hi-tea with Uncle Nuar as it was his birthday the day before. First we ate at Dome, Subang Parade and after that we walked over to Swensen's to have dessert.

Boy, did I eat a lot that weekend...

Happy Birthday Uncle Nuor!!

The great thing about the CNY week was I only had to go to school for three days!
And then came Saturday, again.

Now, that Saturday, the 20th, we had another celebration. Mak Lel treated us to a lovely dinner at The Daily Grind, Bangsar, where I had Macaroni and Cheese and everyone else had something huge, except Tok Abah. Hehehe... You see, Tok Abah ordered something diferent than the usual steak and burgers. He thought he wanted to try something new.

When the food came, this is what he got...

It was hillarious! I mean, look at his expression! I guess he was disappointed at first but the food turned out to be good and filling too. So, in the end, everybody was happy!

Maammmmaaammm!!

Oh, and I had another 'happening' weekend too! On Saturday, prior to the dinner, I went shopping at Subang Parade with Mak Lel and Aunty Huda while Dadda played football with his colleagues and on Sunday, I went shopping again with them at Ikano and Bangsar, while Dadda was playing golf with Papa, Ayah Ngah and Ayah De, hehe... Owh, I forgot to mention that Nek Wan and Wan Dak was in Subang too.

So, are you jealous that I had a 'blasting' February? Hehe... very interesting weekends indeed...

Make sure you read this too!
