DALGETY BAY AND THE EDINBURGH CHRISTMAS FAIR || 1ST DECEMBER

Hi there!

It's finally December, time flies when you're having fun and I have more things to share with you. The first story I am going to tell you this month is my road trip to Edinburgh... again! (or as Mommy would say, balik kampung. Hahaha!!!)

We went to Edinburgh because Uncle Keith came back from Japan but unfortunately, he was only back for a week. We left our house early on Sunday morning and went to Edinburgh by a car rented by Dadda.

It was a very cold and misty morning. The ground was covered in frosts and the temperature was below 0°C.

Off to Edinburgh!

We arrived in Dunfermline at about 12:00p.m. When we reached Pops' (Uncle Keith's father) house, they were out at the grocery store nearby so we had to wait a wee while for them. While we waited, we played with the frosts at in the backyard. Hehe...

When Uncle Keith and Pops arrived, we went straight inside the house because is was freezing outside. We had a delicious lunch, homemade vege soup by Pops (all veges fresh from his garden) and margherita pizzas made by Aunty Jill. We also had some bread with cheese slices. Pops' house faces the sea so after lunch, we went to have a walk by the beach up to the old church.

Aysha found something she liked as soon as we went in.

Lunch with the Franklins. Aunty Jill and her sons, Torin & Arlo came to join us.

This church has been around since the 1800s.

Walking back before it got too dark.

When we came back to the house, it was already dark so we decided to make a move. Before we went back, we drove to the Edinburgh Christmas Fair. The fair was on Princes Street, near the Waverly Station mall so we went to Chopstix for dinner. After that, we went back to the fair because Mommy wanted coffee and I bought hot chocolate with marshmallow and cream. Hahaha!!! We walked around the market for a wee bit more before it was time to go home.

who came back from Tokyo for a week, for work.

Pops gave Mommy his homemade Raspberry jam made from Raspberries n his garden
and a pot of plant for our house to bring back home.

Stopped by Glenda's (Uncle Keith's mom) grave before we left.
She passed away just about 2 years after Tok Babah.
The last time we were all together (Tok Babah, Glenda & all our families) was in Japan, at Uncle Keith's wedding.

Unfortunately, this was on a Sunday so we had to home early as it was a school night. A lot of interesting events happening in the month of December so watch this space!
Be back soon! 😉

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END OF OCTOBER

Hi there!

On the 29th of October, my school, Pirie Park Primary, had a Halloween Disco Party. It was at night so we could dance in the dark. Hahaha...! We had a good time. We danced, jumped and we played musical chairs with everyone so it was fun! Mommy planned my costume as Catwoman. She bought a cat mask online, told me to wear a black top and my black tights with my black boots and also asked me to put on black socks on my hands to make them look like cat paws. Finally, she made a black tail with her black stockings. My brother, Idzhar went as Spiderman. He has a Spiderman onesie that he wears to sleep so he just put that on and headed to the dance. Hahaha!

I went as Catwoman.

With one of my schoolmates, Amy.

Idzhar with one of his classmates, Aiden.

The next day, everyone was talking about the dance night. It was kind of funny actually. And in the class, we did some halloween activities too.

Two days later, on the 31st, it was the actual Halloween day! Everyone wished 'Happy Halloween!' to each other. That night, some kids came to our house for trick or treating. We were surprised when the first kid came to our house. After a few trick or treats, our candies were almost finished! So, I had to run to a shop that was across the road from our house. But unfortunately, there was only one candy pack left. So when the last pack finished we felt guilty (Mommy actually bought a lot of candies for Halloween earlier on but we brought them bit by bit to school for ourselves so now we're feeling very guilty because we ignored Mommy's warning that this might happen. Hahaha!!!). We had to apologise to the kids who came after that and some happened to be my schoolmates!

Hope everyone else had a good holiday!

Bye :)

MY TRIP TO LONDON || 11TH TO 13TH OCTOBER 2019

Hi there.

So, I have been telling you all about my September activities in my previous posts. Now, I'm going to tell you about my October activities.

On 11th October my family and I went to London. We went to London because of Dadda's Chevening orientation. It was held at Excel London so we had the opportunity to follow him. From Elderpark, we took a bus and went straight to the central train station. We met Dadda there after his class and took the 12:30 p.m. train.

Waiting for our train

We arrived in London at about 5:30p.m. From the station, we went to the underground station and from there, we went to Barking. At Barking, we stayed at the Bank Hotel. The room was really cosy!

Just arrived in London

On the way to our hotel

Our dinner the 1st night in London, just in front of the hotel. We did not expect the serving to be this huge!

The next day, Dadda woke up early because he had to attend the orientation. So, there were only me, Idzhar, Aysha and Mommy left at the hotel. After Zohor prayers, we went to explore Barking. First, we went to the Saturday market right in front of our hotel. Then, we went to Boots pharmacy across the road to buy Aysha's diapers. After that, we went to a nearby mall. The mall was not that big  but there was a supermarket so we bought some snacks to be eaten in the room. After shopping, we went to get some drinks at Costa Coffee that was just around the corner from our hotel. We went back to the hotel to perform our Asar prayers before meeting Dadda and the other Malaysian Chevening scholars at a restaurant for dinner.

Fooling around at B&M store near our hotel.

The next day, we packed our bags and headed to Liverpool street. We went there by train. There, we stayed at Travelodge hotel near the station. On the way there, we stopped over at Canary Wharf to see Dadda's friend from university days, Uncle Jonathan. He and Dadda both went to Warwick University years ago and he stayed on and is now working in London. He's married and has a baby boy. We had lunch with him and his family at an Italian restaurant on the ground floor of his apartment. That night, we went for dinner at Melur, one of Malaysian restaurants that is owned and run by a Malaysian. We met more of Dadda's friends from boarding school. Mommy's friend, Aunty Azah, who's staying in London at the moment with her husband also joined us there. We had a lovely dinner that night. We finally got to eat Malaysian food!

Checked out of the hotel in Barking.

Lunch with uncle Jonathan and his family.

Our dessert. Yummy!

One for the album.

Dinner!

Dinner with Uncle Rizmy, Uncle Shmi and Aunty Azah.

The next day, we checked out from the hotel and headed straight to the train station to go back to Glasgow. We checked into another hotel for the 2nd night because Dadda wanted to be nearer to the station to make it easier for us to travel to the station.

Checked out of another hotel on our last day in London.

London Euston station.

In the train on the way back to Glasgow.

So that's all about my London trip. It was a short and sweet trip as we got to see our friends along the way too, in addition to Dadda attending his orientation.

Till my next post!

Bye!
