I'M BACKKKKK !!! AND I HAVE NEWS

Hi there!

It's me Nadyne. Mommy has been writing my posts for me all these years but now we've decided that I should take over from mommy because I'm 11 years old! Ok ok, now i'm going to tell you about my journey to Scotland.

I went to Scotland because Dadda received the Chevening Scholarship for this year. I was so excited when I heard the news! At the same time, I was kinda sad to leave my friends and family. I know I can still communicate with them through Instagram and all the other social medias and I also know that I can still meet them next year but still, I really miss them!

So now, I'm going to tell you about my journey to Scotland. On the 8th of September, we went to the KL International Airport to board the plane to Glasgow. We went to Glasgow by the Emirates airline. Dadda will be doing his Masters degree at Strathclyde University in Glasgow. I was really excited on the plane. I also felt like this was a dream but is not! We arrived at the Glasgow International Airport at 7:30 pm. By then, I was so tired because it was 2.30am in Malaysia and we would already be fast asleep. The next day, on the 9th of September, we went to High Street to walk around the city and explore. We went to Primark, Tesco, gift shops and more. It was fun and the sun was out so the wind was extra cold. The next day, we did the same thing but this time, it was just me, Mommy, Idzhar and Aysha while Dadda went house-hunting. The next day, we did the same thing all over again. Hahaha!!! Well, I'm pretty sure that this week we would be doing the same thing over and over again.

Anniversary Holiday

"A wedding anniversary is a celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity. The order varies for any given year" ~ Paul Sweeney

More than a week ago, on the 7th of July, Mommy and Dadda celebrated their 2nd anniversary. It was on a Tuesday so they didn't have any special celebrations, plus, Nek Tok, who is Tok Momma's father was in the hospital. But that weekend, on the 11th, we went out of town to the beach. Yes, I said WE. This time I got to go along on a holiday at the beach.

We arrived at a hotel called Avillion in Port Dickson on Saturday afternoon. We had a water-chalet type of room which was on stilts and we had the sea below us. When I sleep, I could hear the sound of waves underneath. The hotel had lots of interesting things for us to do. They have a room filled with activities for children and besides playing at the playground, we swam at the pool. There were 3 pools; one of the pools had a slide which I enjoyed very much!

Look at me solo-sliding! Wooohoooo!

I was too small to go for the water sports activities at the beach so we spent most of our time at the pool.
We also had a chance to feed animals like rabbits, peacocks and hamsters at the pet farm.

There were a lot of other stuff that we didn't get to do because we had so little time. Maybe next time we can go for the nature walk, karaoke and the water sports activities such as jet ski, banana boat and others (maybe when I'm older). I can't wait for our next holiday trip!

"No man needs a vacation so much as the man who has just had one" ~ Elbert Hubbard

And with that, I leave you with photos from our vacation.

Weddings

So, I know that I haven't been writing for quite a while now. I've been quite busy actually, err... with attending weddings.

Anyway, as some of you might already know, Mommy, Dadda, Aunty Huda and Mak Lel went to Bali a few weeks ago (I was told that Bali is somewhere in a place called Indonesia. As if I know where that is!). As usual, I was left behind with Tok Abah, Tok Mama and Pak Su Ami. The weekend they went to Bali the 4 of us took a long trip to a place called Triang. It took us forever to get there! We went there to attend a wedding of Tok Abah's and Tok Mama's friend. Needless to say, I was well behaved and quite entertaining to Tok Abah, Tok Mama and Pak Su throughout the journey although I was sooo tired.

Mommy, Dadda, Aunty Huda and Mak Lel came back on Sunday, 31st May at around 10am. We picked them up at the airport and went straight to Malacca to attend another wedding. This time Mommy knew the groom and Tok Abah and Tok Mama knew the groom's parents. Apparently, they were neighbours from ages ago and Mommy and the groom grew up together. They met again when they worked together at ASTRO.

In Malacca, waiting for Tok Mama's friend at Kolej Yayasan Saad..

I didn't really feel tired during that journey to Malacca maybe because I was excited to see Mommy and Dadda back from Bali. Of course I missed them a lot but I tried not to show it too much. Anyway, we stopped by at Tok Mama's hometown in Rembau to see Nek Wan and Nek Tok on the way back from Malacca.

Hmmm, mam-mam! I love food.. eating with Mommy..

Our picture with the groom (Uncle Ayai) and his wife

On the 6th of June, Mommy, Dadda and I went to a wedding in Meru, Klang. It was not that far, about 45 minutes' drive from home. This time it was the wedding of Dadda's cousin, Uncle Mahmie and his fiancee, Aunty Zarina.

In my cute green dress, all ready for the convoy!

You see, in a Malay culture, there are always receptions at both the bride's side of the family and the groom's. Most of the time, though not always, the bride's side will hold the reception before the groom's side. Malay weddings always start with the religious ceremony, in this case, at a mosque.

At the mosque, hugging Papa!

Just me witnessing the akad nikah..

Look at all the 'hantaran'...

Playing with Cik Ah's camera, with Cuna, Mommy and Cekde looking..

After that we proceeded to the bride's house about 5 minutes' drive from the mosque where the reception was being held. I have to tell you that the food served was delicious!

A week after that, on the 13th, it was the groom's family's turn to hold a reception. I went to the groom's parents' house the night before the wedding to 'help' with the preparations. I helped quite a lot, actually, with the food, I mean. Anyway, the reception was held at a hall not far from the house. We met with a lot of relatives from Dadda's family who came from all over Malaysia just to attend the wedding.

Tok Mama, Tok Abah and Pak Su also tagged along with us!

All dressed in brilliant purple. Mama with her bling-bling dress! :)

My Subang family with the 'mempelai'.. I'm too busy looking at Auntie Zarina's flowers!

Enjoying some cooling moment near the fan with CuNa!

Our small family with Uncle Mahmie & Auntie Zarina. Selamat Pengantin Baru!

So, those were more or less my account of the weddings I've attended for the past few weeks. Of course to me the best part of all the weddings are the Food! Glorious Food!

Not food, but flower. Yup, just me playing with the fresh orchids during the wedding reception.

Till we meet again...

My Kelate Trip - part 2

The next morning everyone woke up early to have breakfast together with Tok Abah before he went off to work at 8.30am. After breakfast, Mommy, Tok Mama and I went back to the room and I fell back to sleep soon after. Our original plan was to go for a swim at the pool but it was raining so we had to cancel our plan.

At Wan Ani's house upon arrival. I can't sit still as usual!

Mommy, can we go out now??

Yeaaayy! I'm ready to leave my hotel room & explore Kota Bharu!
At around 2pm, the three of us decided to browse through the shopping mall next door which was connected to the hotel. We bought some snacks and headed back to the room. Tok Abah came back at around 4pm. At 6pm, Tok Mama's friend from school, fetched us from the hotel and took us to her house for dinner. We had typical Kelantan food called Laksam and Laksa Kelantan. I had some of Mommy's, some of Tok Mama's and some of Tok Abah's. After dinner she sent us back to the hotel. We then drove to another shopping mall called KB Mall about 5 minutes' drive from the hotel and Tok Mama looked for some scarves for souvenirs. On the way back to the hotel, we had supper at a restaurant named Tarbush which serves Arab food.

I love looking at myself through the mirror!

Off to dinner! The red dress makes it hard for me to walk..

The next day, we didn't have breakfast with Tok Abah. After he left for work, we went down for breakfast at around 10am. Again, we wanted to swim but I started yawning right after breakfast so we didn't go and I went back to sleep. Tok Abah came back at 11am and they started packing. We were supposed to check out of the hotel at 12 noon but Tok Mama asked for a late check out. We eventually checked out at 2pm. We then headed straight to a place which sells Batik materials. We spent more than an hour there and finally drove to KB Mall right after for a drink because the weather was so hot, we wanted to look for air conditioned place. We were supposed to meet Wan Ani, Tok Amin who had just arrived that very morning and their kids at the restaurant, Tarbush for dinner.

Look at all the colourful BATIKs.. Amazing!

At the Pasar Siti Khadijah Clock Tower with Tok Abah

They arrived at around 7pm, we had dinner there and then headed straight to the airport with them. Our flight back was scheduled at 10pm so we had plenty of time. After saying our farewells, we went to the waiting area and Mommy gave me a quick shower and changed my clothes into fresh ones. Mommy, Tok Mama and Tok Abah freshened up too. Soon after, there was the announcement of passengers with babies to board the plane first.

At the KB airport. I'm still munching...

This time I was wide awake. Finally I experienced my first take off and enjoyed looking at the view very much. I was fascinated by the tiny lights below us.
A short while after taking off the flight crews gave us cupcakes and juice which I shared with Mommy. The flight took us slightly less than an hour.
I read some books Mommy brought along for the trip and when we finally landed we took turns getting off the plane and took some photos outside.
We waited a while for our luggage and went out to wait for Dadda.

This time, I will not miss the take-off!

Reading the in-flight instructions!

I'm soo excited, I can't sit still!

We've landed back home! That was a FUN journey, wasn't it Mommy? :)

When Dadda arrived he was happy to see me and asked how our trip was like. At home we showed him photos that we took during our trip while Tok Abah, Tok Mama and Mommy told him about the trip. Mommy was especially happy with the flight because apparently, when she traveled with Dadda on a different flight (different company), the crews were very rude to her. Where as in this flight, the flight crews were very polite and were always smiling.

Thank you Malaysia Airlines (i.e. FireFlyz) for the good hospitality! I'm sooo happy..!

So, now you know how my first flight went. I'm definitely looking forward to more 'flying' trips!

Here's the photo album for your viewing pleasure..

p.s; My entry for MAS The Great Escapade contest before didn't win me the trip, but I'm hoping to fly with Mommy & Dadda soon!

My First Flight - part 1

Finally, I've had my first flight experience last week, Sunday the 17th of May. Unfortunately though, Dadda was unable to join me in my first exploration of the 'flying world' as he had prior work engagements. The people who witnessed my first flying journey were Mommy, Tok Mama and Tok Abah, of course.

You see, Tok Abah had to go to Kota Bahru, Kelantan for work matters for a couple of days so Mommy, Tok Mama and I decided to tag along! Well, Mommy decided actually, hehe. Anyway, Tok Mama happened to be free too so she decided to join us.

My quest started on a Sunday afternoon. Dadda came out of his training to send us to the airport at around 2pm. Our flight was scheduled at 3pm. I was so excited that I did not have my afternoon nap before that. I took some photos with Dadda at the airport and later Dadda saw us to the boarding gate and waved goodbye. Both Mommy and I were quite sad that Dadda didn't get to join us for my first flight experience.

at the airport with Dadda..

Tata Dadda.. We'll miss YOU!
We took more photos in the waiting area before boarding. Mommy and I got to board the plane first because they allowed passengers with babies to go first. So naturally, Mommy got to take me aboard before everyone else because she was with a baby and the baby was of course, yours truly!

Waiting to board with Tok Abah. I'm already very sleepy..

Yeay, we're the first to board as I'm the only baby there!

We're leaving on a Jet Plane!!
As soon as we settled down in our seats, Mommy gave me my bottled milk which she had prepared earlier. People were still looking for their seats and keeping their luggage at the top compartment when suddenly, to Mommy's dismay, I fell asleep! Mommy, Tok Mama and Tok Abah were quite dissapointed because they were all looking forward to seeing me experience the take off. To cut the story short, I actually slept the whole way and didn't even experience the landing, sigh. I only woke up when Mommy carried me off the plane so we managed to snap some photos outside.

Slept all the way to Kota Bharu!!

We're here already? The flight soo comfy Mommy!
When we arrived in Kota Bahru, a family friend, Wan Ani fetched us from the airport and took us to the hotel. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Kota Bahru. We checked in and after Tok Abah and Tok Mama performed their prayers, we drove to Wan Ani's house at a place called Ketereh, about half an hours' drive from the hotel. It rained heavily so we stayed and have dinner at her house with her kids too. Wan Ani's husband, Tok Amin is working in KL. He comes back by plane every few days so he was not there. After dinner we borrowed Wan Ani's car and drove back to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel at around 9pm and took turns to shower. I had my bath and milk right after. We were all tired from the journey so we went to bed early.

To be continued..

Fun Weekend in Port Dickson

On Saturday, the 21st of February, I went for a holiday in Port Dickson with Mommy, Dadda and Mommy's colleagues from Sinar FM. At around 1pm, we checked in at Desa Lagoon Resort, PD. We were treated to a light refreshment at the cafe once we arrived.

Just arrived, a bit groggy from sleeping all the way to PD. Look at the flower on my ear!

After that, we headed straight to our room which was at the 2nd floor, not far from the lobby. It had a great view of the swimming pool. We rested for a while, I had a short nap. At 4pm, some of Mommy's colleagues and their kids were already jumping into the pool although it was hot. We watched from our balcony, contemplating on whether or not to join them.

In our huge room, got Panasonic Viera LCD TV tau!

An hour later, Mommy decided that it's time to take me to the pool since it wasn't really hot anymore. Mommy was afraid that the sun was too much for me although she'd brought my sunblock along. So, Mommy changed me into my swimsuit and covered my whole body and face with sunblock before she and Dadda got ready to take me down to the pool.

Getting ready to go to the pool. Sunblock time first!

At the pool, Mommy's friends were delighted to see us. I had my Mambo float with me and everybody liked it and thought that I looked cute using it. There were other kids swimming with me too. We enjoyed ourselves in the pool since there were no other guests there except us and Mommy's friends and their families. Mommy talked to her friends while I swam with Dadda.

After a while, we decided to proceed to the sea. It wasn't my first time to the sea. If you've read my writings earlier, I did say that I didn't quite like the sand. Well, I still don't. I clung to Mommy when she sat on the sand at the beach. I enjoyed myself when she carried me in the sea, though. Dadda went on the banana boat with some of Mommy's friends.

I love swmming in the sea....!

Salt water getting into my eyes!!! hmmm, salty!

Mommy had wanted to go but somebody had to stay with me, right? She waited for Dadda to come back but nobody else wanted to go after that. So, in the end she didn't go. Since I didn't like the sand and had refused to walk, stand or sit on the sand, Mommy and Dadda decided to take me back to the pool. This time, we went in the jacuzzi. After sometime, the others came and joined us. We stayed there until 7pm.

Playing with the icky sand that I don't like while waiting for Dadda!

I can't stand the sand, so Mommy had to pick me up! hehe..

After Maghrib prayers we went down for dinner. I slept after my shower and was still asleep in my stroller when we went down. Mommy and Dadda had time to eat a little before I eventually woke up. Mommy then took some pasta for me and she also brought along my porridge she cooked from home.

The Red Team ready to rumble the buffet dinner!

After dinner we exchanged gifts. We were told to buy a gift that costs around RM20 each (family). We got a clock from Mommy's colleague, Uncle Zaidi. Our gift went to Uncle Shah.

With Auntie Abby Fana! Kellas gitu!

With Uncle Zaidi who gave the gift to us!

With Mommy's boss - Pak Tam.. Scary huh?

After the gifts exchange ceremony, there was a Karaoke session. They passed along the songlists to everyone and Mommy's colleagues started singing one by one. Mommy and Dadda sang too. They did a duet first and later Mommy took turns singing a couple more. I joined in the fun too and I was clapping my hands non-stop!

Karaoke time!! Not a duet, but a triplet?

At around midnight we left the room and went back to our room because I was already tired. I fell asleep right away. Mommy tucked me in and she and Dadda watched some TV before retiring too.

With the Ejen Sinar who loved singing!

The Sinar FM family!

The next morning I had to be woken up for breakfast. Boy, was I tired! Hehe... I was still half asleep when Mommy and Dadda were eating and talking to their friends. Some of Mommy's friends and their kids went back to the pool after the meal. We on the other hand, went back to the room to rest. Mommy and Dadda discussed about taking me back to the pool but in the end they didn't because Mommy thought I was so tired and sleepy.

True to what she thought, I did go back to sleep once we went back to our room. At around noon, Mommy started packing while Dadda had his shower. After Dadda had his shower, Mommy woke me up and bathed me. She let me play awhile in the bathtub since I didn't get to go to the pool like the rest after breakfast. When she finally got me ready, it was Dadda's turn to play with me while Mommy had her shower.

Around 2.30pm, we went to the lobby to check-out. Before everyone left, we gathered to take a group photo. On the way back, we stopped by Atuk Long's house in Bukit Chedang, Seremban to drop off Mak Lang Nur's wedding and going-away present. We finally reached home at 7pm but went back out to IKEA with Aunty Huda where we met Atuk Long, Mak Lang Nur and Uncle Wan Zul, again.

It was indeed a tiring but exciting weekend for all of us especially ME! I'm definitely looking forward for another holiday!
