My Blog Is Carbon Neutral

"According to a study by Alexander Wissner-Gross, PhD, physicist at Harvard University and environmental activist, an average website causes about 0.02g (0,0008oz.) of carbon dioxide for each visit. Assuming an average blog gets 15,000 visits a month, it has yearly carbon dioxide emissions of 3,6kg (8lb.). This can mainly be tracked back to the immense energy usage from (mainframe) computers, servers, and their cooling systems."

Wow! Did you all know about this? Mommy says it's bad and when I grow up, the world as I see it now probably won't be the same anymore if this goes on plus another thousands little environmentally un-friendly activities we do everyday!

Tok Abah teaching me about tress! I love GREEN!

So, I'm taking this initiative to make my blog a carbon-neutral one. It's cool and it's free!
Here's an interesting story:

One day, Mommy and Dadda received an e-mail from Germany.
They stumbled upon my blog and told us about their project. Cool eh?
I'd never thought that people in Germany would be interested in my blog! Hahaha!

Anyway, a young team in Germany is apparently working for an initiative called "Make it green!". They are doing their part in reducing the carbon footprint by raising awareness of the severe environmental damage caused by carbon emissions. One of their activities is to raise awareness of the carbon emissions resulting from the use of the internet - specifically of blogs.

So, after going to their website and read about the whole thing, we feel that we could take part in this beneficial activity.

You could too! Just go to :

So, how do they actually neutralise my blog's carbon footprint? Well, they will plant trees in cooperation with the Arbor Day Foundation in Plumas National Forest in Northern California for their project to neutralise the carbon footprint of blogs. Thousands of wildfires burned down many national forests over the past ten years and 88.000 acres of Plumas' were destroyed by two fires in 2007. (I'm so glad that we don't have major forest wildfires in Malaysia... imagine all those trees that got destroyed!). To help replanting they need the support of bloggers from all over the world!

For every participating blog, they plant a tree. One blog - one tree.
So this post will give them 1 more tree!

I hope anyone reading this will do the same.
Maybe someday, the same initiative can be done in other parts of the world too!

Let's conserve our environment so I can play with nature even more!

So, everyone, let's "Make It Green!".

Looking Good Traditionally - 1Malaysia Fashion

In Malaysia there are 3 main races, they are Malay, Chinese and Indian. Each race has its own traditional costume. As for the malays, we have Baju Melayu for the boys and Baju Kurung for the girls like myself. You can see me in one in my previous post about Eid.

My first Baju Kurung was a cotton one with tiny flowers. I had it on for my first Eid celebration when I was just around 9 months, I think.

My first baju kurung!

My second one was a plain silver one with tiny details at the collar, made specially for Mak Lang Nur's wedding.

Tok Abah and Tok Mama bought a plain blue coloured one for me when we had tahlil for Atuk Kassim who passed away last year and my latest Baju Kurung was green, quite glamour-ish, with sequins and flowered details at the collar Mommy bought for Eid last year.

My 2nd Eid baju kurung with Mommy!

The traditional costume for Chinese girls are called Cheongsam and I have one too! It's pink and has flowers all over and I got it for my 1st birthday and just recently wore it to a wedding. Of course, I looked adorable in it!

Now, the traditional costume for Indian girls is called a Saree and I have yet to own one (hint, hint, Mommy...). It looks quite complicated to wear, though and I'm not sure if Mommy knows how to wear it, let alone wear it on me! So, I might have to wait until I'm a bit older and maybe get Mommy's friend, Aunty Uma to teach me how to wear a Saree. Owh, and she sells Saree online too, at www.indifashion.my.

Anyway, I think it's nice to be able to wear traditional costumes from different races and countries.
That reminds me, Dadda has worn a kilt before, haven't you, Dadda?

Surprise!

Two weeks ago, I followed Tok Abah and Tok Mama to their new house. We went there just to check on things and clean up a little for the people who were coming to install the curtains. On the way there, we stopped by at Carrefour, Subang Jaya to buy some food. Little did I know that Tok Abah was about to buy me something new and interesting!

Tadda...!! I present to you... my new Bike!

It has two seats so whenever my cousins or my young aunts and uncles come, they can ride the bike while I sit at the back like a princess. I did a little pose on it. Don't I look adorable riding it?

More poses can be found here;
